The entreprise is the result of a family heirloom dating from 9th-century. This family company promoted by Giuseppe Leonardi since 1869, was carried forward by his son Vito. Vito, driven by his will to succeed in producing a special balsamic vinegar, became involved in every production factors : picks the best grapes, selection of high quality barrel makers, application of ancestral recipes, in order to contribute increasing domestic awareness of vinegar factory Leonardi till current notoriety. When the third generation comes, represented by Giovanni Leonardi, know-how along with passion are already part of the family’s heritage.
Granfather’ s legacy affords Giovanni to continue operating balsamic vinegars more than 100 year old. So it is thanks to the respect for traditions, a seamlessly course of action and mostly wait upon the time, that today we can get balsamic vinegars more than 130 year old. His son, Francesco, 4th generation, continues to make their first class balsamic vinegars known across all five continents.
In Magreta (Modena, Italy), Leonardi collection is synonymous with tradition, history and passion in the heart of a family which, for four generations, is devoting its full attention to Modena balsamic vinegars maturing, according to the rules.
Modena balsamic vinegar IGPs is obtained from Trebbiano and Lambrusco grapes must acetified and fermented. Modena balsamic vinegar benefits from 8 years of aging in barrels made of the finest wood : oak, chestnut, cherry, ash, mulberry, locust and juniper.
