A cookie is a small file, usually consist of letters and numbers downloaded on your computer when you access certain Web sites or services.
Cookies have many uses, including letting you effectively navigate through web pages, remember your preferences, and generally improve your experience on a website. They can also help ensure that ads which you have access are most relevant to you based on your interests.
Cookies are stored in the memory of your browser and each generally contains:
• The name of the server from which the cookie was sent;
• The lifetime of the cookie;
• A value - usually a unique number generated randomly.
The web server sends the cookie uses this number to recognize you when you return to the site or navigate from page to page. Only the server that sent the cookie can read and, therefore, use this cookie.
Data on visitor navigation are not exploited by name; it is aggregated statistics to know the most and least popular pages, preferred paths, levels of activity by day of week and time of day, the main client or server errors. We remind you that you can oppose the registration of "cookies" by configuring your browser, referring to the user manual of your browser.
